The Doctors

Dr. James J. Neff is originally from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire followed by Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Upon graduating in 1972, Dr. Neff served on active duty in the United States Air Force as a dentist and gained valuable experience working one on one with highly trained specialists.

In 1974 he moved his family to Winsted and started a family dental practice. He worked alone except for extern dental students that he mentored in the late seventies and early eighties. His first full time associate was Dr. Gorecki who worked with him in Winsted until he began his own practice in Willmar. They continued to practice together in Waverly for 10 years. They closed that clinic because they both were too busy in their main clinics. Dr. Neff has had several associates until the present time.

In addition to his practice, Dr. Neff is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, the Minneapolis District Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry and the 21st Century Dental Study Club. He is committed to continuing education, taking many hours of additional training each year in courses such as esthetic dentistry, oral pathology, implants, endodontics, pharmacology, temporomandibular and oral facial pain, and orthodontics. Dr. Neff is a graduate of the Donavan Academy of Orthodontics, and received certificates for completion of the United States Dental Institute two year course in Orthodontics/Orthopedics and the completion of the Post-Graduate Course in Orthodontics from the Mid-America Orthodonic Society.

In 2006, Dr. Neff became certified to straighten teeth using Invisalign technology. He is also certified in Lumineers.

Dr. Neff serves on the board of Vernacular Video Missions International and often goes on mission trips to third world countries. He is a 5th degree black belt in Shotokan karate. He and his wife, Mary, enjoy SCUBA diving, swimming, bicycling, kayaking, reading, and are active in their church.


Dr. Jessica Linn is originally from Chicago, Il. She attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and received her BS degree in Biological Sciences. Dr. Linn went on to the University of Illinois Dental School and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2000.

Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Linn worked in Chicago for a group practice which specializes in cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Linn was able to gain valuable clinical experience before moving to Minnesota. She has also completed her certification course in orthodontics. She has been practicing with our office since September of 2001.

Dr. Linn is an active member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association and the 21st Century Dental Study Club. She regularly attends post-graduate studies to keep her clinical skills at their highest. Dr. Linn feels that continuing education is critical in order to deliver the highest of quality of care to our patients. She is very caring and conscientious. Her goal is to provide the hightest quality of care in a comfortable environment for the patient.

Outside the office Dr. Linn and her husband Jim enjoy biking, skiing, golf and SCUBA diving. They have two daughters, Sydney and Josephine, and a son Edward.

Dr. Gina Torres is originally from Bogota,Colombia. She attended Colegio Odontologico Colombiano in Bogota and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1988. Additionally, in 1994, she received certification as a Prosthetic Specialist from the Military University Nueva Granada in Bogota. Dr. Torres recently received her Lumineer Veneers Certification at a Smile Design workshop in Georgia in early 2007. 

Following graduation from dental school, Dr.Torres worked in private practice in Bogota from 1988 to 1996.  In addition to teaching prosthetics at San Martin University in Bogota, she also practiced dentistry in the Rural Outreach Program of the Jesuits Community in Bogota. 

In 1996, Dr.Torres moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she studied English at Vanderbilt University and at the same time worked in the Biomedical Library. In Nashville she worked at several dental offices. In May 2007, she moved to Minnesota after joining the staff at our office.

 During her time in Tennessee, Dr.Torres became a United States citizen and also became board certified by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry. She is currently a member of the Minnesota Dental Association, and is certified to administer Nitrous Oxide.  She speaks both Spanish and English fluently and has special expertise in Prosthodontics (crowns, bridges, partial and complete dentures) and Pediatric Dentistry.  A lifelong learner, Dr.Torres believes continuing education is a major aspect in providing excellent care to her patients.

 Outside the office, Dr.Torres, her husband and daughter enjoy swimming, playing golf and like outdoor sports.  She loves music, including jazz and classical.  She is delighted by the beautiful lakes and landscapes that Minnesota has to offer, and is already becoming a good Minnesotan.
